Hi, I’m Angel ♡

Elloooo I’m Angel! I consider myself a professional yapper, chronic book buyer,and the person behind The Angel Archive. I (try to) read a little bit of everything, but dark romance has me in a chokehold, and if a book really gets me then I’m probably finishing it way faster than I should!

I made this little corner of the internet to keep track of everything I read, rate, obsess over, recommend, and occasionally complain about. Basically if I have a thought about a book then there’s a good chance it'll end up somewhere in here!

I’ve been reading since elementary school. My favorite series growing up was Goosebumps and I was OBSESSED. I’d literally beg my teacher to take us to the library, or ask to go during free time. I'd check out two Goosebumps books, read them in class and at home, return them the next day, and repeat.

I did it so much my school eventually had to get new books because I’d read them all.

I also loooved Choose Your Own Adventure books even though I absolutely cheated whenever I made the wrong decision... Like… no. That’s not what I meant to choose. Let me pretend I can make good decisions

I’ve pretty much always been obsessed with books. I used to get called lame for loving to read and honestly I was fine with that.

As I got older I started reading fanfiction and Wattpad became my WORLD. Most kids would stay awake to watch tv or play video games but me? NO. I was under my covers, living my best Y/N life before my fanfic mom would wake me up, I'd put my hair in a messy bun, grab my vans, only to be told she sold me to One Direction.

YES I was a Zayn/Harry girl (still am highkey..it was NOT a phase) BUT yes this is also probably where my why choose love began.

Eventually I drifted away from novels for a little while, but around 2022 I started reading them again and that’s when I really started buying books and building my collection.

NOTABLE DEVELOPMENT: the book-buying problem begins

Listen… my TikTok FYP is INTERESTING. While I was getting back into reading, BookTok started taking over my feed. I kept seeing Haunting Adeline, saw a certain car scene, and curiosity eventually won.

I started it on my phone that night and finished the entire thing in one sitting. IMMEDIATELY went to the next book and finished that one in a day too.

Contrary to popular belief, I think Haunting Adeline deserves its flowers. Is it for everybody? Absolutely not. If you don’t like it, power to you. But it was my first dark romance, opened an entire genre for me, and it also helped me through some things in my own life. It’ll always have a special place in my reader history because of that.

I'm a sweat for a good spreadsheet tbh! With the life I live I do several things, I’m not in a box, and spreadsheets help keep me organized TREMENDOUSLY.

I love Goodreads! I'm a big fan, especially because it connects to my Kindle. Unfortunately, I don’t really use StoryGraph because it doesn’t connect to my Kindle, so Goodreads is still my primary.

HOWEVER… Goodreads isn’t cutesy. And it doesn’t have all the oddly specific stats I want to track. So I made my own spreadsheet. Does it still need some work? Absolutely. But it’s mine, I love it, and as long as I understand it? We ball!

Nowwww even though I be wanting to forget how we started, TBB technically began as a bunch of Google Classrooms in 2023. The whole point was mostly to help people find books they wanted because I know what it’s like to have a hobby that can get expensive.

That lasted about three-ish months until I got tired of managing 10+ classrooms, discovered Discord, and moved everybody over. Then around October or November I was like, “hmm… this should be a book club.” And boom. The Baddies Bookshelf. (Even though our original name was "Bookclub for Baddies"... Im boutta throw up)

We’ve been growing ever since! The original server did get deleted at around 3,000 members in March 2025, which obviously sucked, but I think everything happens for a reason! Rebuilding gave us a chance to rebrand and really focus on the community side of TBB, and we’ve kept growing from there.

Honestly, I think I just wanted somewhere to show off my reader life? To have a little space for everything like my ratings, spreadsheets, favorites, recommendations, moodboards, challenges, opinions, emotional damage, and whatever else I decide belongs in here.

So now the kid who used to beg her teacher for another library trip has her own little library on the internet. We LOVE a full circle moment
